Young alumni often lack the financial resources to make substantial gifts to the college right after graduation. 2016 class agents Nick Brownrigg and Jace Forbes-Cockell saw an opportunity: Why not tap into the value their peers place on community service? The idea became the basis for the Teach It Forward: Impact Challenge.
Alumni were invited to perform community service and log their hours during a 10-day period in January 2017. Thanks to a generous group of challenge donors, their gifts to the Alumni Fund were then multiplied by their hours of service and matched.
Since the start of the challenge in 2017, alumni all over the world have logged 14,768 hours of service, matched by nearly $1.2 million in challenge funds, making an impact in their communities while doing good for Williams. Now that’s multiplying it forward!
